Cebu trip 2012

Maayong adlaw sa imo!

Cebu is one of best place in the Philippines, that's why, that one of the most visited place of tourist. I went there last May 2011 (business trip), first time ko sa Cebu ng mag-isa because I don't have reservation in any hotel, I asked Mang Jovito (taxi driver) to bring me to the nearest hotel in Cebu City, I stayed in Golden Peak Hotel near in Ayala Mall so I just went to and fro to Ayala mall and then office because of the bad weather condition that time. I did not enjoy my trip, obviously. While waiting for the late flight, I took some picture with my new friend Rose Quitoy (I knew her on the airport while waiting).

This year, I went to Cebu last May 2-3. While on my way to Cebu, I just took some picture from above and one of my seatmate asked to pass the picture to him through bluetooth, we just have a little chat until we arrive to Mactan International Airport, I asked him to picturan ako (as you can see on the left side). I stayed in Cebu Business Hotel located in Colon St., the oldest street in Cebu. As usual, I did not book to any hotel but I set my mind to stay in that hotel. The front desk staff is very hospitable. Dumating ako sa hotel ng 1:30pm and obviously lunch and merienda na so I decided to go to colonade supermarket, if Im not mistaken, walking distance lang from Cebu hotel. I ate to Chowking, so funny kasi hanggang sa cebu e chowking din kinainan ko. Actually, naghahanap ako ng Kenny Rogers pero wala kaya Chowking nalang. While eating my lunch con merienda hehehe, the rain poured out. Hay, again for my second trip to cebu umulan nanaman. Obviously, it impossible for me to go back to hotel because of the flooded street of Colon. Some of the street children swim over the flood but what makes me laugh is while the children enjoying the flood while tourist enjoying taking some picture of the said moments (for me, it a shameful for us). I decided to to buy a "milk tea" in DIMSUM.
After a few minutes, the floods going down and I go to hotel to take some rest but instead of rest, I planned to go out and see some historical places in Cebu. I asked the receptionist (May, Gwen and Ruby, if I'm not mistaken) the direction on how to get there. Walking distance lang talaga.

FIRST DAY TRIPPING

The first destination is the CEBU METRPOLITAN CATHEDRAL (see picture on left side).

Actually, I'm looking for Basilica but my feet turn left when I saw the Petron gasoline station hihihi but im still blessed because I found this place. I just asked the priest where is Basilica hehehe so funny because it's on the next street after the market...

SECOND DESTINATION IS BASILICA DEL SANTO NIÑO

This church is full of saints and history on how the Sto. Niño brought to the Philippines. The garden inside the church is beautiful and many tourist go to that church. Devoted catholic would love to come over here for sure, not me, sorry hindi ako masyadong enjoy dito - i just want to see the church

THIRD DESTINATION - MAGELLAN'S CROSS (see pictures below)

A black wooden cross at the center of the pavilion (i don't know if i'm right the term). But what really amazed me is the ceiling - I really loved the ceiling, the story behind that cross was drawn on the ceiling. Perfect design for me! Finally, nakarating ako sa magellan's cross!

FOURTH DESTINATION FOR THE DAY IS THE HERITAGE OF CEBU MONUMENT

I continued the fourth leg of my Cebu Heritage Walking tour in this district that is slowly reviving its genteel and affluent past. Passing the Calle Colon Obelisk, I walked towards the Heritage of Cebu Monument.  Observing this monument, you will see the history of CEBU.

I continued to walk until I saw the YAP-SANDIEGO ANCESTRAL HOUSE. I did not come over that museum because I'm scared because of darkness - the light is not enough to see the beauty of this house and beside it opens until 6pm. Well, hopefully nakapasok ako.

YAP-SANDIEGO ANCESTRAL HOUSE is very near in Cebu Heritage less than a 2minutes to arrived there.

After that, I decided to return at the hotel because I have a meeting over dinner.

After my meeting, I decided to chat with the hotel receptionists, they're so cool. We have a lot of talk especially about celebrities, well marami akong kwento of course nagwork ako sa ABS CBN before. Then, I met Zharen, she's also from manila. Limited yun time kaya konti lang chika namin hehe parang ang tagal ng magkakilala diba hehe. (see picture below)

Next day, May 3, I asked the receptionist on how to go to Fort San Pedro, they give me the intruction. It's my first time to ride on their jeepney, I noticed that every location have their own code. I ride in 2B jeep. Well, it's like two birds in one stone because Fort San Pedro is located in Plaza Independencia. That's great!

After to Fort San Pedro, I'll go straight to Tabuan, cebu wet market, to buy some "pasalubong". You can buy dried fish at the cheapest price. Then return to hotel, pack up and go straight to Mactan Airport to go back to Manila. As always, the flight is always delayed, while waiting for my flight, I decided to eat to Cafe Ceasar. You must try their siomai with quail egg, it's delicious. While waiting for my food, I found myself inditing a song for God entitled "I will follow".

Well, this british girl catch my attention, she's so beautiful and I know she's writing her experience in her diary. That's cute.

See you again Cebu!
